Step1. Revision

1. Check the past tense of some words.

2. Pract “How was your weekend?”

Step2. Exercise

Ask: What did you do yesterday?

Let’s see what Sally and Jim did yesterday. Do 1a on P56.

Do you like the things they did? Ask: Do you like to play the guitar? … .

Listen and write down what Sally and Jim did last weekend and complete the chart.

Step3. Survey

Interview your partners about their parents: What did your mother /father do last weekend? Then give us a report: My friend ’s father/mother … last weekend.

Step4. Reading

Read 3a by yourself, and circle the activities you like. Underline the activities you don’t like. Then let the students give their answers.

Explain: For most kids.

Then ask some students to read the passage.

Step1. Revision

1. Ask: Where did you do last weekend? /yesterday ning?

2. Check the past forms of some words and phrases.

3. Please give a report about your last weekend.(It’s yesterday’s homework)

Step2. Presentation

First review “How’s it going?”, and the four kinds of answers.

“Not bad” “Great” “Terrible” “Pretty good”.

Then ask: What did you do last weekend? How was your weekend?

First the students will answer using only those phrases. So can you answer my question using a sentence.: “It was … .”

Step3. Pract

Show pictures and ask about it.

Then ask the students to make a dialogue. Ask about each other’s weekend.

Step4.Exercises

Do 3a. Use the given sentences to complete the conversation.

Then ask students to read it and check the answers.

Step5.Expansion

Then what about Tony’s and Sarah’s weekend? Ask and answer with your partner.

Step1,Warming up by a list of verb phrases

Hi, class. We play a first. We will make a list of verb phrases. He a try. Now let’s try to put the verb phrases in their past forms.

Step 2:Some new words: was, did, went, beach, over, project, test, What about….? He a party, do some reading 对于was, did, went 这三个过去式,要和其他动词的过去式一并讲解。动词的过去式可分为三类:be 动词的过去式,规则动词的过去式,不规则动词的过去式。这节课可着重讲解规则动词和be动词的过去式。不规则动词的过去式可放在后面讲。

规则动词的过去式有以下四种构成方式: 一、一般情况下在动词词尾加ed, 如:played, called, needed, wanted 二、词尾是e的动词加d。如: 三、以一个辅音字母结尾的重读闭音节单词,应双写这个辅音字母加ed。如: 四、以辅音字母y加结尾的动词,先将y变成i,再加ed。 动词be的过去式是:am/is-- was are---were. 主语是I, he, she, it 以及相当于第三人称单数的动词,谓语动词用was;如果主语是you, they, we以及复数名词,谓语动词一律用were 。 在讲构成方式的同时讲解动词过去式的发音。

Step 3. Look at 1a. Match the words with the pictures. Let the students remember the verb phrases.

Step 4. Let’s come to 1b. Listen and write the day and “morning”, “afternoon” or “night” below each picture.

Step 5. 1c Roleplay. Pract the dialogue: “ What did you do over the weekend? On Saturday morning, I played tennis.” Let two students ask and answer with the sentences. Pay attention to the past form of the verbs.

Step 6. Let’s come to 2a. Listen and underline the words you hear. Keys: grandmother, homework, math, beach, tennis Read the sentences after the recorder sral times. Then ask : “ What did you do?” Answer with the sentences.

Step 8. 2c Pairwork Pract the conversation below. Use the rmation in the box. Read the conversation after the recorder and then let them make a new dialogue like this.

现在进行时的基本用法:

1. 表示说话人说话时刻正在进行的动作或发生事情。汉语中常用"在,正在"来表示。如:
